InterchangeUSA, most commonly known as ePilot.com (their PPC engine) has finally debuted Local.com. They bought the domain name for an estimated $750k a while ago, and have tried to keep it a secret what they will do with this product.

It’s first look is a rather plain looking search engine. They do have some decent meta data with location areas for restaurants, and has the feel of a provider who knows what they want todo, but isn’t sure how to both get the proper content and how to display it yet.

The people I know over at InterchangeUSA are a smart bunch, and been quietly successful at providing PPC listings to several IYP and other properties for a few years now. It has yet to be seen the potential for this product, and even through they are a smart group of people, it also requires execution and ideas for local businesses to make a domain name a good destination site.
