Danny in USA Today

There is a very nice write up about Danny Sullivan in the USA Today Newspaper. For those of you who don’t know Danny, he’s a man to know in the search engine marketing world. Next week begins Search Engine Strategies, which is one of his major projects, and one of the leading search engine conferences in the world (and where I’ll be all next week, and will also be speaking a few times).

SES is one of my favorite search conferences. Danny has been running this for years, and it’s one of the best search conferences around. Next week, it takes place in San Jose - home of both Google and Yahoo. The highlight of the event is the Google Dance, which occurs at Gogleplex. If you’re in the San Jose area, or wish to learn more about SES, here’s the SES website.

I will be speaking twice next week at SES.

August 7th:

Advanced Advertising Track
Compare & Contrast: Ad Program Strategies

This session will compare many of the various features between the various PPC engines. I’m focusing on geographic targeting. What are the different geographic targeting options between Yahoo, MSN, and Google? How can you serve ads to searchers within a geographic area? What are other ways of reaching searchers within a specific geography.

August 10th:
Clinics Track Ad Copy & Landing Page Clinic

A clinic at SES is a live session. Audience members submit keywords and websites. Then, the panel critiques the ad, ad competition, and landing page. There is often a give and take from the audience as we walk through various scenarios. If you want help from the experts on ads, landing pages, and improving your conversion rate - this is the session for you.

I also keep some of my older conference presentation online for perusal.

If you can’t make it to Search Engine Strategies San Jose, the next major conference will Pubcon in Las Vegas.

I also keep a running calendar of speaking engagements online.

Hope to see you in San Jose.
